MVHA Dedication

This long-term project of the Monte Vista Historical Association seeks to document the entire Monte Vista Historic District. The goal is to provide not only a publicly accessible record of the buildings and infrastructure, but to convey a sense of the lives that have been lived here, and that continue to be enjoyed by the residents of today. May the neighborhood of Monte Vista continue to prosper!

Professor Donald Everett's vision and energy were instrumental in the establishment of the Monte Vista Historic District, and also to his long-time collaborator and publisher Mr Lewis Fisher of Maverick Publishing Company. Professor Everett's San Antonio's Monte Vista: Architecture and Society in a Gilded Age is the primary resource for the history of the District, and has been relied on extensively for the information included in this web site. We hope to use Professor Everett's book as the foundation for an even more extensive documentation of the District as this project develops. Visitors who have information available to them which would assist us are encouraged to contact the Monte Vista Historical Association to contribute to the project.
