Monte Vista Third Thursdays - Not just another party

3/1/2010 - It is a truth universally acknowledged, that Monte Vistans love a party. In addition to several holiday parties, MVHA members gather to celebrate the Third Thursday of every month. This is a benefit of MVHA membership, as these parties are only open to members.

At the magic hour, folks bringing food and a bottle of wine gather to enjoy the ambience of another Monte Vista party. The designated gathering place may be one home, several homes together, or a place of business. The homes may be large mansions or small bungalows; the meeting place inside or outside on the lawn or patio.

Third Thursday founders and co-chairs are Ron Soele and Jose Rodriguez. Under their expert guidance and planning, the party runs smoothly for both hosts and guests. The schedule for the remainder of 2010 has been arranged and includes the following venues:

June, July August - Summer Sabatical

Third Thursdays are more than just parties and fun. These gatherings are a potent glue that binds the neighborhood together. Residents have an opportunity to meet and befriend neighbors from opposite ends of the neighborhood. Affection, caring, support and even protection are fostered at these gatherings. An invisible web is woven between the houses of Monte Vista, connecting them and making our neighborhood into a cohesive community. It is no wonder and no accident that Monte Vista is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in all of San Antonio.
