Historic Preservation Resources

1/31/2010 - MVHA's Historic Preservation Committee, which includes the Architectural Review Committee, has published some useful information and resources for Monte Vista residents contemplating repair, maintenance, construction, or restoration work on their homes. Included in the Historic Preservation Resources is information to review "Before starting a Project," Historic Preservation Guidelines, and Useful Forms. This information can viewed on the right-hand side of the Historic Preservation Committee page or at the links below.

Before starting a Project is information every resident needs to know when considering any work on the exterior of their home. It is intended to provide an overview of the process for obtaining a building permit in a Historic District.

Historic Preservation Guidelines includes useful guidelines for Color, Landscapes, and Streetscapes in Monte Vista. It also includes a link to a Historic Preservation brochure prepared by the City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation.

Useful Forms includes links to useful information, applications, and other information that pertain to exterior repair and maintenance, construction, and renovation of properties located in the Monte Vista Historic District.

MVHA's Historic Preservation Committee and the Architectural Review Committee are resources that residents of Monte Vista can draw on for help in understanding historic guidelines and for advice in obtaining approval from the City of San Antonio Historic Design and Review Commission.
