Toast the Tour Cocktail Gala
Traditional Kickoff to the Home Tour
There are few folks that know how to party, and do so while being elegant and relaxed the way we do in Monte Vista. Katharine and Ray Welder graciously opened their beautiful mansion on Bushnell Avenue the night before the Home Tour for an evening of great food and drink provided by Page Barteau Catering. The quintessential San Antonio jazz group, Small World, played all night on the patio as the music wafted thru the house and the gardens.
This party is the traditional kickoff to home tour and a chance to honor our homeowners for their gift of opening their homes to our visitors. It is also where we present the homeowners with a thank you gift, a framed drawing of their home. The artist chosen to create these works of art in 2015 was none other than our own Monte Vista resident, Isaac Ojedo. He did an exquisite job with both the drawings and the framing. Every homeowner displayed their gift for visitors to enjoy during the tour.
Speaking of gifts, Page Barteau created a special Fall cocktail exclusive to our party and she has kindly shared the recipe. The next time the weather is nippy, feel free to give this a try!

1 ½ ounces chilled ginger beer
1 lime wedge or slice of apple
