314 West Summit Avenue
This Italian Renaissance house was built in 1922 by the prominent builder F. C. Scrivener. Scrivener built this home for Edward and Nana Fitch, owners of Fitch Insurance Company on McCullough. The home is a replica of Scrivener’s own house in old Alamo Heights.
During a previous renovation, a piece of “Word Art” was discovered behind the walls. An artistically designed document, giving information such as the age of the house, was signed by each workmen or artisan who worked on the house. The piece is now framed and is proudly displayed in the house. The home is decorated with beautiful artwork and various collections of the current owner.
