Historic Design Guidelines

The City of San Antonio’s Office of Historic Preservation (OHP) has published several guidelines for the citizens to learn more about how to update all aspects of a historic property and how the City and the US Department of Interior approach historic design. These easy-to-read brochures help you answer “Why should I preserve?” and “How do I preserve?” and provide more details behind the different approval processes. The Conservation Society of San Antonio offers competitive grants once a year for the restoration or rehabilitation of residential or commercial historic structures built in the past 50 years. Applications for the 2024 Building Grants begin August 1, 2024. Click here to find out more information.
